Job Description

MultiVersity Housing Partners is looking for a Full-Time Leasing Professional to join its growing Pittsburgh Portfolio (student and multifamily).

*Must live in Pittsburgh or willing to relocate to Pittsburgh. Traveling to several different sites will be a requirement.*

Major Responsibilities

1) Leasing

  • Greet potential residents
  • Answer calls and persuade potential residents to visit the property
  • Show and lease apartments by building value into what the Company offers
  • Successfully close on showings
  • Communicate specials and promotions
  • Address and resolve questions/concerns in a timely manner
  • Pursue leads
  • Achieve goals
  • Process leases
  • Qualify applicants
  • Process criminal background checks on prospective residents
  • Process credit checks on guarantors
  • Properly execute the lease
  • Prepare lease packages and lease renewal packages

2) Marketing

  • Research new marketing avenues
  • Recommend marketing concepts to the Property Manager
  • May implement approved marketing techniques/programs
  • May create price sheets
  • Plan and organize resident events and parties

3) Tenant Experience

  • Greet existing residents
  • Answer incoming calls
  • Discover resident needs, wants, and fit with an appropriate unit/roommate
  • Timely follow-up and follow through on resident needs
  • Input service requests
  • Follow-up on trash, fires, housekeeping, roommate issues, pet registration, etc.
  • Build rapport with residents
  • Create hospitality and a sense of belonging in a professional atmosphere
  • Complete guest cards and send thank-you notes

4) General Clerical

  • File information
  • Prepare correspondence
  • Copy information
  • Generate mailings

5) Accurate Reporting

  • Enter bills into a spreadsheet
  • Bill back residents for overages
  • Collect checks and monies owed
  • Read ledgers and adjust rent as needed

6) Physical Plant

  • Inspect grounds
  • Assist with annual move out/move-in in August
  • Assist with the inspection of units, as needed

7) Projects

  • May complete projects as directed by the Leasing Manager or Property Manager

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Participation in Fair Housing classes and practice of acquired information

Experience

  • Minimum: One (1) year of customer service, sales, or community experience.
  • Preferred: Residential Assistant experience; Property Management leasing experience; and proven sales or restaurant experience. Related coursework is also preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum: Basic MS Word and MS Excel skills, ability to learn in-house systems, enthusiastic, self-starter, convincing and persuasive sales skills, goal-oriented, excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task with little direction, excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize, control, and follow through on job responsibilities, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers
  • Ability to think, concentrate, and communicate

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a temperature-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels. However, outside marketing may constitute up to 20% of this employee’s time.
