Electrician – Facility Maintenance

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and equipment, including large and complex components. The Electrician will also lead specialty projects, ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations, and contribute to the overall efficiency of facility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility electrical systems, including complex components.
  
• Perform and oversee preventive and routine maintenance on electrical systems.
  
• Evaluate and maintain isolated power/ground systems and monitor building power quality under dynamic load conditions.
  
• Work with voltages ranging from 120V to 12,470V while ensuring safety and compliance.
  
• Use test equipment to diagnose issues and identify developing electrical problems.
  
• Inspect, install, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment based on technical diagrams and manufacturer specifications.
  
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations for all installations, repairs, and maintenance.
  
• Collaborate with facility teams to ensure timely project completion.
  
• Document and maintain records , including blueprints, work orders, and instruction manuals.
  
• Provide training and technical updates to team members to enhance department capabilities.
  
• Research and recommend new materials, techniques, and equipment for improved efficiency.
  

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or trade school training preferred.
  
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed electrician.
  
• Licensure & Certifications:
  • Journeyman’s or Master’s Electrical License required.
    
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License preferred for hospital roles and required for property maintenance positions.
    
• Skills & Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of state electrical codes for hospitals and commercial buildings.
    
  • Understanding of isolated power/ground systems, harmonics, sags, swells, and spikes .
    
  • Ability to use a computerized work order system and maintain detailed records.
    
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
